Tom Cairney claimed his eighth Man of the Match award of the season for his pivotal display in the 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

The playmaker was involved in practically all of Fulham’s best attacking moves, and by the end of the game had laid on two key passes and attempted six shots.

Of course, one of his efforts proved decisive, when in the 77th minute he curled a fine strike inside the far post after Ben Amos had parried Matt Smith’s header back into his path.

Cairney was the busiest player on the pitch with 105 touches of the ball, just more than Ryan Tunnicliffe who was involved in 100 ball events. In contrast, Neil Danns was Bolton’s busiest player with 65, while goalkeeper Amos touched the ball 50 times.

Furthermore, Cairney embarked on five successful dribbles and made two tackles, while boasting a pass success rate of 87 per cent.

A total of 46.6 per cent of fans voted for the 25-year-old, while Dan Burn was his nearest rival for the award with 24.6 per cent, and Scott Parker came in third with 8.2.
